At 18, while my friends were thinking about summer plans and college, I found out I was pregnant. Those two pink lines changed my life forever.

That moment marked the beginning of an unexpected journey—full of challenges, growth, and love that reshapes you.

Now, 27 years into motherhood, I can look back with so much gratitude. But in those early days, I didn’t have the perspective I do now. I just knew life felt hard, messy, and uncertain.

I’m starting this series to share my story — not because I have it all figured out, but because I believe stories matter. Maybe you’re a young mom yourself, or maybe you’re just curious about what it’s like to walk that path. Either way, my hope is that these words encourage you, remind you that you’re not alone, and show you that beauty can grow even out of the most unexpected beginnings.

Over the next several posts, I’ll be sharing pieces of my journey — from discovering I was pregnant as a teenager, to raising a baby before marriage, to later marrying Kevin and watching our family grow. It’s been a winding road, but it’s my road — and I hope it encourages you on yours.
